YOU Tel's digital cable services in Hubli Dharwad
After Mumbai, Vizag and Bengaluru, YOU Telecom has now extended its digital cable operations reach to Hubli-Dharwad.
With this development, YOU Telecom has made its intentions clear of consolidating its cable operations in Karnataka.
According to sources, YOU Tel's objective is to roll out triple play services by television, internet and telephony services on the same cable....which it has successfully done in some areas in Bengaluru....

YOU Multiplex - Movies on demand for digital cable susbcribers
YOU Telecom, one of the leading broadband service providers and MSOs in the country has become the first MSO to offer movies on demand service to its digital cable customers.
With this YOU Telecom has taken the competition with satellite head on.
The Citigroup-owned service provider has tied-up exclusively with Shemaroo Entertainment which will provide the content from its library of 1000 movies for this service. The service is expected to rollout by December and the company is looking at a price-band of Rs 50- Rs 70 per film.
YOU telecom will adopt a pay per view model under the YOU Multiplex service brand where customers using their set top boxes can select a movie of their choice and buy it for a day. Five different genres including action, romance, drama, comedy and classics, will be available. The movies will have DVD like picture quality and sound.
The digital cable provider felt the need to introduce new value-added services (VAS) as competition is getting tougher in the VAS space and better services are needed to retain customers. Introducing this service wasn't a difficult task as YOU telecom's set top box has several in-built features that enables them to offer VAS.
What makes it an exciting proposition is people can watch the movie at any time and any number of times during the day. At any given point of time YOU Tel’s digital cable subscribers have a choice starting from six films going upto 21 films to choose from much like what we see in a multiplex, hence the name YOU Multiplex.
